Official Regulatory Specifications for Exporting Tunisian Olive Oil

Chapter I: General Provisions (Articles 1-4)
- Article 1: Establishes conditions and mandatory requirements for exporting Tunisian olive oil by registered resident entities.
- Article 2: Full compliance with Law No. 94-12 and Decree No. 2005-2177 governing edible oil commerce.
- Article 3: Mandatory registration on the official Exporters Registry maintained by the Ministry of Agriculture.
- Article 4: Free export to global markets. Direct EU tariff quota is managed by the National Oil Board (ONH), while bottled and organic certified oils under Tunisian brands are eligible for direct quota export.
Chapter II: Operational Requirements
- Article 5: Submission of 2 endorsed copies to the General Directorate of Agricultural Development (30 Rue Alain Savary, 1002 Tunis).
- Article 6: Mandatory exporter prerequisites:
- Registration in the National Business Registry (RNE).
- Customs Identification Code.
- Tax Identification Number.
- Tax office activity declaration.
- Compliant dedicated storage facilities with insulated tanks.
- Direct contract with an accredited testing laboratory for chemical and organoleptic panel testing.
- Food-grade certified bulk transport (Flexitanks / ISO tanks complying with Decree 2003-1718).
- Articles 10-12 (Technical & Storage Standards): Food-grade stainless steel tanks or glass-tiled underground cisterns, strictly isolated from odor sources and thermal oxidation.
Chapter III & IV: Enforcement and Penalties
- Article 13: Inspection and certification by the official Technical & Sanitary Storage Committee.
- Article 14: Non-compliance penalties following a 30-day notice: 1-year suspension from the exporters registry, 2-year suspension on repeat violation, or permanent revocation.
